Two Days Out and the PNW Has a Pulse

Monday morning, two days to closing at the majors, and the Pacific Northwest just showed a heartbeat. Baker, Crystal, and Whistler have 46 centimeters — nearly a foot and a half — in the three-day forecast, which is the kind of late-April plot twist that used to be fiction. The sensor reads zero right now, so this is less of a top-up and more of a resurrection. Interior BC is also loading a 7-inch midweek surprise. Meanwhile, the rest of the map is doing what April does: the Rockies are scraped clean, Utah spent its Easter gift already, and the Sierra is coasting on last week's 26-inch haul with temps cold enough to keep things firm. The season's last act was supposed to be a quiet one. Instead, the Pacific is throwing punches. If you're anywhere within range of the Cascades, cancel Tuesday. Wednesday's going to taste like January.

Pacific Northwest mixed

Base reads 0cm right now and temps are hovering near freezing (28–35°F), but a serious 46cm (18in) storm is bearing down Tuesday through Thursday — this could be the last real powder day of the season. →

Rockies closed

Colorado and Utah are functionally done — 0cm base at both, no meaningful snow in the forecast, and temps pushing into the 40s; A-Basin may still have limited terrain but the snowpack is gone. →

Northern Rockies / Interior BC thin

Jackson and Big Sky sit on just 1cm base with 10cm (4in) in the forecast; Revelstoke has 2cm and 19cm (7in) incoming midweek — enough to give the remaining open terrain a brief refresh but not much more. →

Northeast thin

No new snow, 0cm base at the sensors, and temps swinging from 31°F to 58°F with 47 km/h winds — any remaining open terrain at Killington or Jay Peak is hanging on by a thread in full spring-survival mode. →

Europe thin

The Alps are scraping by on 1–2cm of base from Chamonix to Zermatt to St. Anton with near-freezing temps and no new snow in the forecast — glacier operations and high-altitude touring are all that's left. →

Japan closed

Zero base across both Hokkaido and Honshu, temps in the 40s–60s°F — the book is shut for the season. →
