Five Days to Last Chair

Five days out from closing weekend and the season is doing what it always does in April — splitting into two stories. The first one is about doors shutting: Mt. Bachelor just confirmed April 19, Loveland called it for April 26, and the dominoes keep falling across the West. The second story is the one you should actually pay attention to. The Sierra is loading up again — 8 inches in the last 24 hours with nearly 19 more expected through the weekend — and down in Utah, Brighton is flipping on the lights for two bonus nights of spring skiing starting tonight. Meanwhile, five American skiers just punched their tickets to the 2027 Freeride World Tour, which means the pipeline is healthy even if the snowpack isn't. The closing-day countdown doesn't have to be a funeral march. There are still turns to be had, cold ones to crack, and costumes to assemble. Go find them.

LINE POISSON — '26-27 New Model
LINE has never been afraid to get weird, and the POISSON is their latest proof of concept — literally. Born out of LINE's new "CONCEPT" program, it's a completely new shape that throws out the template and chases something the brand calls "fun and style" without much further explanation. Details are still emerging from STEEP Magazine's early look, but the silhouette alone suggests this isn't another all-mountain do-everything ski. It's a statement piece. Pacific Northwest closed

Zero snow on the ground at Baker, Crystal, and Stevens with temps running 35–49°F and no new snow in the forecast — the PNW season is done. →

Rockies thin

Colorado has 2 inches over the past week with 3 more in the forecast and temps swinging from 34–54°F; Utah is bare but still running lifts at a handful of resorts — ride what's left while you can. →

Northern Rockies / Interior BC thin

Jackson and Big Sky sitting on barely a trace of base with temps from 28–47°F and only trace snowfall expected; Revelstoke similar with cold overnight temps but minimal new snow incoming. →

Northeast thin

Jay Peak and Killington picked up 2 inches over the past week with temps ranging 33–59°F — base is negligible but select trails are still hanging on for spring diehards willing to earn their turns. →

Europe thin

The Alps are clinging to 1–2m of base at high altitude across France, Switzerland, and Austria with temps hovering around freezing and no meaningful snowfall in the forecast — glacier terrain only at this point. →

Japan closed

Zero snow on the ground across Hokkaido and Honshu with temps in the 40s–50s°F and nothing in the forecast — Japan's season is wrapped. →
